The School of Veterinary Medicine (LB) was founded at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in 1950 and it is the only Greek Faculty acclaimed as approved European Veterinary Medicine School by the European Association of Establishments for Veterinary Education, E.A.E.V.E. Scientific expertise of LB focuses mainly on improving animal productivity, health, reproduction and welfare. Scientific expertise includes animal husbandry and health, epidemiology, data analysis, nutrition, animal breeding and physiology, molecular biology pathology and internal medicine. Relevant experience includes the use of Information Technology in population monitoring and biodiversity studies. LB has been working closely with other academic colleagues nationally and abroad in several EU and nationally funded research projects and has considerable experience in managing a series of field trials. LB has established through years a large network of collaborating farms and businesses. LB has been working on different topics of animal production over the last two decades. The major research projects that the group is involved are: SMARTER (Small Ruminants Breeding for Efficiency and Resilience (Horizon2020; https://www.smarterproject.eu), iSAGE – Innovation for sustainable Sheep and Goat production in Europe –(Horizon2020; www.isage.eu), 3SR – Sustainable Solutions for Small Ruminants, PAPESHE – Protection of Autochthonous populations of Pelagonia Sheep breed in the cross-border area, SMARTER – Small Ruminants Breeding for Efficiency and Resilience, PARASITES – Environmentally sensitive approaches to nematode parasite control in sustainable agricultural systems for sheep and goats and others. AUTH team includes also members of the School of Forestry & Natural Environment and in particular experts fromthe Lab of Wildlife-Freshwater Fisheries and the Lab of Forest Rangelands.

PB2 is a local authority, situated on the homonym village of Drama’s Prefecture. Main activities of the organization are to provide a range of local municipal services to the citizens, enterprises and visitors, such as cultural activities, social services, technical works, activities focused on the conservation and enrichment of its cultural and natural inheritance. The last few years, PB2 has been focused on the promotion and enhancement of its natural and tourist resources, having implemented a number of projects such as “Folklore Museum in Municipal Community of Prosotsani”, “Landscaping of cave Aggitis”, “Restoration of old tobacco warehouse”, “Promotion of Utilization Management Kastanies Menikio network conditions Natura 2000” in Interreg IIIA/Phare CBC and Leader program. The above projects prove PB2’s experience and competence on managing cross-border projects.
PB3 is a non-profit organization aiming to contribute to the conservation of natural heritage of Bulgaria and neighboring countries of S.E. Europe, with an increased involvement of the civil society. BBF has a long history of participation in the preparation of the local / regional and national policies. It is involved in a few very successful advocacy campaigns for amendment of the Hunting Act, Forest act, Biodiversity act and the rules for their implementation in Bulgaria in the last 20 years. Representatives of BBF are among the permanent voting members of the National Biodiversity Council at the Ministry of Environment and National Hunting Council at the Ministry of Agriculture. Regularly, BBF is invited by the High Environmental Expert Council at the Ministry of Environment for the discussion of management plans for protected areas.
PB4 is a local authority, situated in the GotseDelchev Hollow, at the southwest foot of the Middle Pirin Mountain, in the valley of Mesta River. It is armed with qualified staff having extensive experience in previous projects, acts independently on all issues of local importance such as: municipal property, municipal enterprises, planning and development, education, health, culture, social services, environmental protection and rational use of natural resources; maintenance and preservation of cultural monuments and tourism. Among the projects that PB4 has implemented, project “Popularization and Preservation of the Cultural and Historical Heritage in the Cross border Region Gotse Delchev – Prosochani” ETC Progr. “GR-BG 2007-2013” in Area of Interv. ‘Protection, Management & Promotion of the Cultural Resources’ proves partner’s competence and management capacity.
